United Nations "Towards a Century of Unity" Event Held with the Participation of BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel

The "Towards a Century of Unity" event, organized to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations (UN), was held with the participation of BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel, UN Assistant Secretary-General Nikhil Seth, former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and UN Resident Coordinator in Türkiye Alvaro Rodriguez.

The online event was moderated by Ahmet Aydemir. Held in partnership with the UN Institute for Training and Research, Bahçeşehir University's BAU Global Education Network and the UN Türkiye Office, the event discussed the historical significance of the United Nations and what it can do to bring the world together during the pandemic.

With the words "If development does not benefit humanity, its meaning and purpose must be questioned again", former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova emphasized that development should be achieved within the framework of sustainable development goals such as education.

In this context, Enver Yücel, Chair of BAU Global and of the Board of Trustees, highlighted the international importance of education and equal opportunity, saying, "Access to quality education for children everywhere in the world will change the whole world."
